The whole time the students were gone they worried about the sprouts not getting enough water. One club member's father brought her to the school through the snow so that she could water the sprouts on the Monday after the storm; when they arrived, however, they were met by an unhappy sight. The weight of the snow had caused the greenhouse to collapse. The roof was on the ground and the sprouts had died in the cold. When she returned home, she emailed her science teacher and called some of the other club members to tell them the news. Everyone was devastated. When school resumed on February 16th, the whole school was sad about what had happened. One student and Environmental Club member cried, saying, “We spent three months working on restoring the greenhouse and I put a lot of hard work into this project and I come back and it’s all gone.”

Our school is currently trying to file a claim with the insurance company so we can still continue our greenhouse dream. The condition of it now is unfixable. Nobody knows if we will get a new greenhouse by the end of the year because they are very expensive if not covered by insurance. Our principal Mr. Burley is doing the best that he can to help us. It would mean the world to our school if you could donate funds to help us build our new greenhouse by visiting the DONATIONS PAGE. Thank you so much - it means the world to us!
